Sabrina Xavier - 2010 Scholarship Recipient
2010 BHSAA Scholarship Recipient 


The BHSAA nominating committee is pleased to announce that Ms. Sabrina Xavier is the 2010 Brighton High School Alumni Scholar.

Sabrina wrote a riveting and thought provoking essay that made her application stand out amongst the other candidates. She also received exemplary recommendations from her teachers and distinguished herself both academically and through her work with her family and the Summer of Opportunity program.     Sabrina will be studying Biology at NorthEastern University.

Sabrina will receive her $2,000 scholarship in two installments in concert with her semester schedule.

Eric Santana ~ 2009 BHSAA Scholarship Recipient
2009 BHSAA Scholarship Recipient 


The BHSAA nominating committee is pleased to announce that Mr. Eric Santana is the 2009 Brighton High School Alumni Scholar.

Eric received exemplary recommendations from his teachers and distinguished himself both academically and through his work with his family and the West End House community.    

Eric will receive his $2,000 scholarship in two installments in concert with his semester schedule.

Richa Shrestha ~ 2008 BHSAA Scholarship Recipient
2008 BHSAA Scholarship Recipient 


The BHSAA nominating committee is pleased to announce that Ms. Richa Shrestha of Allston is the 2008 Brighton High School Alumni Scholar.

Richa received exemplary recommendations from her teachers and distinguished herself both academically and through her work with both family and the community.  Richa was the 2008 BHS Salutatorian and is attending the College of The Holy Cross in Worcester, Massachusetts.  

Richa will receive her $2,000 scholarship in two installments in concert with her semester schedule.

Charli Cardoza ~ 2007 BHSAA Scholarship Recipient
2007 BHSAA Scholarship Recipient 


The BHSAA nominating committee is pleased to announce that Ms. Charli Cardoza is the 2007 Brighton High School Alumni Scholar.

Charli’s amazing writing skills on her application essay along with her strong GPA captured the attention of the scholarship committee. Charli is attending Bentley college in Waltham Massachusetts.

 

Charli will receive her $2,000 scholarship in two installments in concert with her semester schedule.

Renaud Alexandre ~ 2006 BHSAA Scholarship Recipient
2006 BHSAA Scholarship Recipient 


The BHSAA nominating committee is pleased to announce that Mr. Renaud Alexandre is the 2006 Brighton High School Alumni Scholar.

Renaud distinguished himself as a student member of the BHS 1st Annual Live and Silent Auction Planning Committee.  From the first meeting in November 2005, Renaude was always involved working on whatever was asked of him.  He always had a smile on his face and adopted that “can do” attitude.  He worked closely with eight (8) alumni members also serving on the planning committee.  Renaud was also a vocal opponent of the “Late Bell” rule that basically locked out students that arrived after the bell had rung each day.  Renaud and others requested the opportunity address the members of the Boston School Committee on this issue.  In March they spoke to the board.  After making their presentation and a vote was taken, the rule was suspended.  Kudos to democracy in action.  Renaud is definitely a young man of character and conviction and will be a leader in the future.  It was our pleasure to work with him during the school year and to choose him as this years recipient.  He is attending Northeastern University in Boston, Massachusetts. 

Renaud will receive his $1000 scholarship in two installments in concert with his semester schedule.

The BHSAA Scholarship is available to students graduating from Brighton High School
in Brighton, Massachusetts.
The candidate must meet the requirements set forth by the BHSAA Scholarship Committee
