RECENT REUNIONS...

Class of 1970

CONGRATULATIONS on a wonderful 37^th Class Reunion last night on Saturday August 18th @ Lombardo's in Randolph, MA.  Harry Cosman and the committee did a fantastic job and it showed by the way everyone was having such a great time.  Melvin George (Comedian HBO, DEF Comedy Jam etc.)  was a fantastic emcee!  The DJ from City Lights DJ Service (1-800-321-1537) was great playing the spectrum of music from the 60's through the 90's.  The vocal selections by Katrina Belezos '71,  were also "apolafstikos" (from the Greek, meaning enjoyable).  The photographers from Price Perfect Photos ~ Plymouth, MA (508) 833-2388 also had some great pictures to memorialize the event at very reasonable prices. 

One of the most moving parts of the night was a  tribute honoring Mr. John Doherty who, after a 43 year career at BHS teaching math retired this June.  He touched many people's lives both in that room and beyond and for that we are all thankful.  He was very moved, spoke only a few words...unlike the time we spent in his class,  thanking the class for the honor.  The class also had a raffle that raised $540 which was split equally and 1/2 ~ $270 was given to the American Cancer Society and the other 1/2 ~ $270 was given to the BHSAA Scholarship Fund. 

On behalf of the officers, directors, members and most importantly the BHS students / scholarship recipients, "thank you very much" for the contribution to the BHSAA Scholarship Fund.  We also applaud you for supporting the American Cancer Society, a wonderful cause that works diligently everyday to find the cures to rid the world of this horrid disease.  We're both honored!

The Class of 1957  had their 50th on Saturday, October 27, 2007 at the Newton Marriott, 2345 Commonwealth Avenue, Newton, MA from 7:00 pm until 12 midnight.  Cocktail Hour was from 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm.  The Buffet Dinner began at 7:00 pm until 12 midnight. Attire was "Smart Casual". 

In a recent telephone conversation with Stephanie (McHugh) Joseph, she said she could only describe the evening as "magical".  Everyone there had the time of their life!  They even pushed the 12 midnight timeframe and "closed" the room down at 2am.  The following morning over forty-(40) folks gathered for breakfast and kept the trip down Memory Lane going.  The venue was wonderful according to Stephanie and everyone loved the BHS Welcome Back banner that the association provided. 

Class of 1977

The Class of 1977  held their 30th reunion at the Stockyard Restaurant in Brighton.  The function rooms there are wonderful for intimate gatherings of old friends.

Class of 1987 presents "Classes of the Eighties Reunion"

The Class of 1987  had its 20th Class Reunion at the Best Western TLC Hotel in Waltham, MA on Saturday, September 22, 2007.  They also invited others classes of the '80s to join them since many memebrs of these classes all knew each other.  Graduates of the classes included  1979, 1984, 1986, 1987 (the hosts) 1988, 1989 and even 1990 were all in attendance.  Joining them were former teachers including Mr. Greene, former headmaster and BHSAA Treasurer, Juliette Johnson '60 and BHSAA president Scott Ployer '80.

A great debt of gratitude is owed to the reunion planning teams that give of themselves so selflessly to reach-out and reconnect old friends.  On behalf of the BHSAA, we'd like to also say thank you for all the data that these reunions provide us so we can keep everyone informed of the happenings of BHS.
